Eloisa E. C. Garcia is a Food Engineer with a M.Sc. in Food Technology – Packaging Area by Campinas State University – UNICAMP. She has been working as a Packaging Specialist at CETEA/ITAL since 1983 and as Technical Manager of the Plastic Packaging and Environment Groups of CETEA since 1993. Nowadays she is also the Deputy Director of the Institute of Food Technology.

She has been involved in research and technical assistance to private companies in plastic packaging performance evaluation, with emphasis on migration and mechanical properties. Regarding the environment area, she has been dedicated to Life Cycle Assessment studies of packaging materials, as well as to the Design for Environment case studies focusing in its application as management tools for continuous environmental product improvement and processes.
